IMPORTING DOGS IN INDIA

Large number of people are importing dogs from various countries. There is a huge demand for imported dogs in India. The importer can take help from professional shipper. There are professional shippers who if entrusted with the job, would complete all the formalities.  

The most important document that would have to accompany the dog is the health certificate without which the dog will not be permitted to enter the country.  

It has been decided by Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying and Ministry of Commerce and Industry that the import of dogs up to two numbers per passenger may be allowed at one time subject to the production of the required health certificate from the country of origin and examination of the said dogs by the concerned Quarantine Officer. In such cases, the passengers may not be asked to produce the import licenses or import sanitary permits.
